Hello Kingdom! We've made some adjustments based on feedback to add the queueing flow back to the multi-complete quest flow. There's still no gas estimations involved, you can "Select All" completed quests, and the rest will still be automated. This update provides a way for users to select only the quests they want to complete at a time rather than assuming they want to complete all quests at once. In addition, we've also included a fix for users that are seeing a bugged maximum 10 quests error when attempting to start gardening quests. Thanks!

During the Hero's Best Friend Patch, we had both the Sampler Promotion and the Pet Extravaganza Promotion. Here is the data for each of those events! The Sampler Promotion is 1 free Regular Pet Treat to be airdropped for each Pet held in a wallet on Klaytn or DFKChain. Pet Extravaganza is a drawing, with 1 entry per pet held in a wallet on DFKChain or Klaytn IF that wallet hatched 1 egg within the 2 week snapshot period that followed the patch. Good day, Kingdom! In continuing with our trend of releasing some exciting off-cycle patches, here's one that I've been particularly looking forward to. Typicool has been applying his galaxy brain to the multi-quest queuing flow and has arrived at a silky smooth solution that should make your questing queues more effortless than ever. Here's the scoop: TLDR; No more worrying about gas estimates! Both start and complete quest queues are now handled completely with automated transaction grouping, without needing to monitor gas cost, and split into multiple transactions as needed. For the start flow, that means just queuing up as many quests as needed to run your entire Hero collection, clicking the start button, and letting the multi-magic do its thing. And similarly for the complete flow, you can now finalize all finished quests with a single click (and however many MetaMask approvals), as well. Notes: The limitation of 10 quests of a specific type is still enforced, as it is a contract-level restriction. On Klaytn, the start quest flow will work the same as before (since it didn't include gas estimation). If any start transactions fail, those Heroes will still be queued to retry. I'm really excited for this update and hope it makes your daily questing that much easier! Godspeed and good questing!

For those keeping up with our "Hero's New Clothes" patch on socials, you already know just how amazing the new Hero designs and animations are looking. Well, quicker than even we expected the Heroes are officially ready to step out and strut their stuff where it counts the most -- in your browser. Check out all the amazing improvements below! Hero Art Rework All 22 classes, male and female hair styles, back and head appendages, and even weaponry have received an update to accommodate future development, reflect a high quality standard, and fully prepare your Heroes for battle-readiness. Get ready to rediscover your favorite Heroes in a whole new light! And a whole new environment, as reflected in the brand new Hero backgrounds that have been designed to better frame your Heroes and their unique appearance. But wait, there's more! You'll also notice that each Hero animates in their cards based on their weapon type, which will feed directly into the combat system in the future. To reiterate just how important this update will be to future development, it lays the groundwork for dynamic equipment, accessories, weapons, and dare I say PANTS... Note: If you're looking for a snappier experience, feel free to toggle off animations and view each Hero's beautiful static image instead. Each Hero image is available at their own link now so you can save them, share them, or print them out and hang them on your wall (though the current hero image url is temporary and could change in the not-too-distant future). Profession Animations As an immediate example of just how versatile these new updates will be for future development, we've added dynamic animations to the Hero cards to reflect your Hero's current activity. There are unique animations and locations for Fishing, Foraging, Gardening, and Mining, along with a shared animation between all Training Quests. Go and check out the Hero catalog to see which Heroes are staying busy with their questing. Ever seen a DreadKnight picking flowers? Well, now you can! We're very excited about the possibilities this opens up to really lean into the dynamic nature of commanding your legion, including the possibility of future animations for dueling, summoning, meditating, and more! Combat Testing Ground Animations Now that the tech behind Heroes will match in their cards and the combat system, this should free us up to mix and match between the two. But first things first, we have updated the Hero animations in the Combat Testing Grounds to reflect the new look and movement for our three featured classes. Animation timing isn't perfectly aligned at the moment, but additional work will be done in the coming weeks to perfect timing, VFX, and polish. We wanted to get the current iteration in your hands as soon as possible to check out the fun new animations! Note: This update also introduces a fix for users who have had trouble accessing the Testing Grounds in Serendale. Preliminary Gas Optimizations The initial gas optimizations we talked about during Thursday's AMA's were deployed a few hours ago. This included optimizations for the QuestsV3 contracts to use less gas on the start and complete transactions for all quest types. Top of our minds. - Plan is to give periodic updates on gas optimization, instead of waiting for one big release - Been addressing low hanging fruit as well as refactoring big issues - Next week expect the first of those updates, if not earlier. - It is a high priority. Question 1 What are your thoughts on single sided Dark Summoning / Hero Sacrifice. If I Sacrifice a Hero, it impacts summoning remaining, class, etc. Hubert - We’ve been discussing this. Extra Hero burning features. This one is an idea with merit, but we need time to focus on it. Depends on priorities, but we’re not focused on adding new burn mechanics just yet. Question 2 On prioritizing burn mechanics – what are your thoughts on where that priority is? Hubert - Understands the concerns. Focused on the Combat System (which leads to future gameplay features). This is a higher priority, to get out more engaging gameplay. - We want to attract new users. - Burning is important, but limited ‘bandwidth’ on what we can focus on at any given time. - Solutions sound simple, but they’re not that easily implemented. Question 3 Any update on Level 10 Mining and Yellow Eggs? Hubert - It’s in the pipeline. Waiting on pet art (it’s time intensive). - Focused on taking care of Combat system, which is drawing labor from that. - There are a couple of other things first that are coming out. Can’t say what they are yet. Question 4 Can we get a more defined definition of a “tick” in the speed formula? Hubert - A “tick” itself is a generic time unit. It doesn’t mean anything but where you put the lines on your ruler. - A Hero’s turn doesn’t have to occur exactly on its tick. It could land on 2.76. It’s not discrete. - Think of it like a generic time that is continuous. The next Hero’s turn might 2.56 or 5.70. Those numbers won’t be displayed as numbers. - Turn order will be intuitive and displayed. Question 5 When can we expect hero sorting? Beetle - I do have an idea and I mentioned it before. - Sorry I didn’t do it earlier. Expect it in the next few minutes. Question 6 Will Skill 10, is there a reason behind not increasing the requirement to enter them? Hubert - We would have been going back on what we planned them for. - It took longer, but that doesn’t impact the original plan. - Travel will make better quests more complicated to access. Question 7 Will the next higher quest have the same? Bolon - No. Check previous answer. Question 8 Thoughts on having the Tavern in Jewel or Klay, instead of Jade or Crystal? Hubert - Possible. Jewel could use more utility. - However, taking away utility from Jade and Crystal would be a mistake. - We’ve been thinking of having Jewel utilized in more ways (as well as Jade and Crystal). Frisky - The ecosystem and economics are tied around the current structure. - Unforeseen ramifications from messing with this. - The Bazaar will use various types of tokens on different chains. Question 9 Hubert, you mentioned not wanting to mess with genes. Any thoughts on having a cosmetic shell where the innate genetics don’t change, but players can acquire “skins”? Hubert - Our plan is for equipment to be visible on Heroes. - Once Weapons and Armor and Accessories are available, they will change Hero appearance. - Have discussed a “skin” system. - Haven’t thought about changing hair styles, or other cosmetic traits. - Attached to Equipment. So will approach this in the future when that releases.

Keep in mind, the fee does increase linearly after each full recharge of a specific Hero but that increase does reset after each day (reset time listed in the recharge interface). So choose your Duelists wisely. We're excited to provide a way for people to get their favorite teams amped up and back in the Arena for another set of Duels! Note: The collected CRYSTAL/JADE fees are subject to standard Duel fee distribution and the gold is burned. Again, I just want to reiterate how much work has gone into the "Hero's Best Friend" patch. @everyone All bugs have been squashed, and all testing has been completed for the final items of our Hero's Best Friend patch! In preparation for todays release we will be pausing the starting of quests on Quest Core V2 in about two hours, at 24th May 2023 01:30. Afterwards, it will not possible to start a new quest on the retired Quest Core V2 and we will be releasing the remaining Hero's Best Friend features - make sure to give the website a good ol' hard refresh once you see Beetledudes announcement! You won't need to cancel or complete any running quests ahead of the release of Quest Core V3 - you will still able to complete them after we deployed the patch. For our community developers, we will also share additional Quest Core V3 information at the time of release.

I know everyone is eagerly awaiting the last items of the Hero's Best Friend patch, therefore a quick status update: We are very, very close to releasing the Quest Core 3, Skill Level 10 Quests, Duel Recharge and enabling Pet Utility, and are starting the Mainnet testing now. Since this is a major feature we want to spend this weekend for a thorough testing, and if things go well, we would be targeting a Monday release.

Hello @everyone As many of you have seen, and the rest will see, MetaMask has put out a new update. This update unfortunately has several impacts on our user experience, particularly around things that are currently set up to create multiple transactions, as MetaMask, with this update, no longer allows multiple simultaneous transactions. First and foremost, we want to address that we recognize the hit to quality of life this causes, and we are not satisfied with it either. In the meantime, we are going to make some changes so that everything at least does work and processes properly. Impacted Features: - Multi-Quest on Klaytn - Pet Treat Ingredient Approvals - Pet Treat Crafting - Multi-Equipping - Multi-Feeding - Multi-Incubating - Multi-Hatching - Gene Re-Rolling on Heroes - Gathering Skill Reveal on Pets - Running a transaction while another is still pending To elaborate on that last one, yes, with this MetaMask update, trying to start a new transaction while another is still pending is causing issues. You’ll need to wait for the first transaction to finish processing before submitting another. This was not a change that we were aware of ahead of time. We will be pushing an update to remove the above “multi’s” in order to not have players running into failed transactions and weird behaviors. We are reaching out to MetaMask to inquire if this was an intentional change. We will keep you all updated as we learn more. Thank you all for your understanding, sadly this is something beyond our control.

In our weekly AMA that was held on March 30th (links below), a question was asked (https://discord.com/channels/861728723991527464/870788018422829146/1090419532671238205) about extending Hero Summoning Cooldowns, the time between being able to Summon with the same Heroes. This is a feature that overlaps between the game and the broader ecosystem, and we want to hear community feedback on the suggestion. As such, we are opening a Request for Comment vote using our governance system to determine if this idea is something players would be interested in pursuing. If the response is affirmative that players are open to seeing it extended, we will put together a proposal with options for how the change would work and bring that for a future vote. @everyone Good release day, Kingdom! The "Hero's Best Friend" patch marches ever onward and today's portion of the release is definitely the largest one so far. I mean just check out our feature-studded lineup today: Pet Treat Crafting, Premium Provisions Power-Up, Pet Bonding, Pet Feeding, and Duels Season 4 with equipped Pet bonuses. In other words, prepare yourself for a novel in today's patch notes... Pet Treat Crafting Now that Sheldon and his counterpart in Serendale, Ned, have fully perfected their Pet Treat recipes, they are ready to share them with the world. You can find each of them in their respective marketplaces and their shops are fully open for business. Choose your preferred treat type (more info on the differences between those below), the two ingredients you'd like to use, and your quantity. Then queue up as many combinations of treats and ingredients as you want before popping the whole batch in the oven and baking them all up together. Here's a quick breakdown between the two treat types: - Regular Treats: contains just enough nutrients to keep your pet full for 3 days or 4 days with Premium Provisions Power-Up (more info on the Power-Up below). - Premium Treats: packed full of enough nutrients to keep your pet full for 10 days or 14 days with Premium Provisions Power-Up. Also, will provide an additional 2% XP bonus when questing (once utility is finished) I know it's a lot of options but hopefully you can decide on the treat that's perfect for your favorite pets and... some of your less favorite. Note: Pet Treats are ERC20 tokens that can be traded, bridged and sent to other wallets. Craft 10, Get 1 Promotion As part of the release today, we will be launching our Craft 10, Get 1 Promotion where you will receive a bonus treat for every 10 treats you craft in the same transaction. This only applies to the same treat type, so if you craft 10 Regular Treats and 10 Premium Treats in the same transaction, you would get one of each as a bonus, delivered at time of crafting. This promotion will last for 24 hours after release. Premium Provisions Power-Up As mentioned above, the Premium Provisions Power-Up will really give your Pet Treats the edge you need in your baking process. Some quality ingredients you can only find through suppliers who require a little extra coin. In this case, you will need to stake 500 c/sJEWEL in order to activate this Power-Up and it will add 1 day of fullness to your pets from Regular Pet Treats and 4 days of fullness to your pets from Premium Pet Treats, while active. Why skip out on the good stuff for you fluffy friends? Power up your treat crafting prowess! Pet Bonding So it's finally time to pair your Heroes with the Pets that will complement them the most. A Berserker with a bloater? Perfection! A Dreadknight with a Hydra? Magnificent! To start the equipping process, head into your Hero view and select Manage Equipment or click the brand new icons on your Hero's card. In the equipment menu, you'll see all the slots coming in the future (I'm particularly excited to see these in-game). Down at the bottom you'll find your Pet attachment where you can click to start the bonding process. Make sure you have at least one freshly-baked treat to ensure the Pet really bonds with their new partner. Select the treat, queue up the bonding ritual, and finalize. You've done it! That Pet and Hero will be bonded until you decide otherwise.

We'll be temporarily pausing both the Hero Bridge and the Pet Bridge for a scheduled maintenance starting at May 10, 2023 7:00 PM in 6 hours (7 pm ET). The downtime is expected to last about 1-2 hours, during which players will not be able to bridge any Heroes or Pets.

Their permissions were immediately revoked in this server, as well as our international Discord servers. (Not to put the poor guy on blast but....) if MrThunder is in any server you run, I'd suggest removing him until he regains his account. Hopefully it's only his Discord he's lost. That said, this has no impact or risk whatsoever to the protocol. His only permissions were in Discord, there's no exposure. Unfortunately, the way Discord settings are configured, the ability to set slowmode is the same permission as changing a channels name and even deleting it. It's all or nothing. For the sake of slowmode, our moderators have had access to that permission, which is what allowed the attacker to delete and re-arrange channels. We've removed that permission from our amazing Knights for the time being for security. Thank you all for being the amazing community you are, thank you to all of our Mod/ knights for being phenomenal moderators and a hugely impactful part of DFK, and now back to your regularly scheduled programming!

It's time for another exciting release and, although we won't be releasing all of the epic equipping, feeding, and dueling mechanics quite yet until we finalize the necessary testing, we decided to push forward with releasing this doozy of a patch! So as the second release of the "Hero's Best Friend" patch, we have deployed Green Pet Egg hatching, Multi-incubating and hatching, and tons of great Pet Viewer improvements! Check them out below: Green Pet Egg Hatching It's finally time! After months of study, the Hatchers in both Crystalvale and Serendale have finally cracked the code on the precise ingredients needed to hatch Green Eggs. This collection of Pets includes a grand total of 144 variations, including 5 Ultra Odd variants, and 20 brand new Pet families. So gather your resources and eggs into your infinitely deep satchel, head to the Hatcher and get hatching! Multi-incubation and Hatching In conjunction with the release of Green Eggs, we are introducing the ability to incubate a plethora of eggs in one fell swoop. Once you've dropped your supplies off at the Hatcher, you can incubate up to 100 eggs (50 eggs in Serendale) of the same color and boon, in one transaction. For those keeping score at home, that's like a 50 to 100 times speed increase! The Hatcher will store all your pending eggs in a huge collection of incubators until they are fully ready to hatch, at which point you can finalize all hatchings in a single transaction. Then page through your brand new Pet stable to check for those elusive Mythic or Ultra Odd variants! Pet Viewer Improvements As an added bonus to the above release items, we will also be pushing out some much-needed quality of life improvements to the Pet Viewer interface, filters, and functionality. Here's a list of the many features that have been added to improve your pet experience: - Filtering by egg type - Filtering by bonus rarity - Filtering for original realm - Filtering for new Gathering Profession Bonuses in new Gather tab - Added Buy Pets tab for easy purchasing access - Toggled sidebar remains on-screen until dismissed - General styling updates to match the Hero Viewer - "Pet Catalog" tab now includes Pets from all origin realms - Added "Gathering" tab Wow, that's a mouthful. Hopefully the Pet handling experience feels nice and intuitive in preparation for all the awesome upcoming features! Hatching Events With the release of Green Pet Eggs, we're also beginning the Pet Sampler and Pet Extravaganza promotional events that are part of the Hero's Best Friend patch! @everyone as you've likely noticed, DFKChain is back to operational! We wanted to share the below post-mortem with everyone for those interested. Additionally, due to the downtime, we did extend the Gaia's Song event until tomorrow, April 11th at 2pm EDT. The extension was made as soon as the chain came back up, so any quests completed since did have the increased drop rate! Lastly, we know there've been many questions around gas. The short version is that gas consumption on DFKChain has been steadily increasing, which has resulted in the increase of the recommended GWEI (minimum remains at 3). We are looking into potential causes, aside from natural use, and continuing to analyze the activity, as well as exploring solutions in multiple vectors simultaneously. Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Hey @everyone Wanted to bring you an update. We’re still working with Avalabs to identify the root cause that started today’s outage, but we had to perform emergency upgrades to our validators to increase memory. Currently 5 of 8 have been upgraded and 4 of those are still syncing back up to date. Once 7 of 8 are synced, the chain will be functioning again, but with degraded performance until the last three are upgraded. When all 5 that have been upgraded are synced, we will then update the last 3 one at a time to keep us at 7/8 during those updates.

@everyone We noticed some issues with our DFK Chain and are investigating together with Ava Labs. You may notice some disruptions of service in the meantime. I'll send a follow-up once we're good to go again!

In order to facilitate smart contract upgrades for the upcoming Crafting and Tainted Gene Reroll feature, we will be temporarily disabling some game contracts and functionality tomorrow afternoon, beginning at April 6, 2023 3:00 PM in 20 hours. We expect this downtime to last approximately four hours. During this time, the following contracts and functionality will be temporarily disabled: - Hero Summoning and Hero Crystal opening - Dark Summoning - Placing Heroes for Sale - Placing Heroes for Hire - Hero Bridging Questing and all other contracts will be unaffected by this downtime. Note: If you have unopened Hero Crystals, we would encourage you to open them prior to these upgrades taking place. Heroes opened from pre-existing Crystals after the upgrades take place may require manual review before they are able to summon or be placed for sale going forward, which may take some time.
