@everyone Good release day and happy new year, Kingdom! Today marks the first release of 2023! And we’re barreling full-steam into the new year with the start of DFK Duel and raffles on Serendale and a whole slew of quality of life updates to boot! DFK Duel The first season of DFK Duel has officially started in Serendale! Get your power-house Hero parties ready to battle it out with the rest of the field. Although this season will be starting a little late (three weeks), we plan to maintain the same schedule across realms so February 8th will be the final day for both. But to account for the shortened season, we will be cutting down the required XP to reach each rank reward, relative to the remaining time left (effectively 5/8ths of the original values). This should give you the chance to climb those rankings and secure some of those sweet rank rewards. Plus, both Crystalvale and Serendale will maintain their own rank rewards so you can churn and earn in both realms. Note: you can transfer Heroes between realms for dueling but still not between wallets. Now get out there and fight! Serendale Raffles With the introduction of raffles in both realms, we will be making a few changes to ensure that we’re maintaining a proper balance between realms. To that end, the total number of raffles running in each realm will be cut in half to distribute properly between each. Part of this update will also include the ability to bridge raffle tickets between realms, so you can maintain a pool of tickets in a single realm if you want or distribute them strategically. Good raffling! Jeweler NPCs If you visit the Jeweler in either realm, you’ll notice a couple new faces. In Crystalvale, Durnan Gearspinner has been hard at work with his research team studying the peculiar qualities of JEWEL and may be approaching a breakthrough. His fellow coworkers also received a fine makeover from our very own SBD. And all the way on the other side of the Seas in the Serendale Jeweler, Wizzle von Sniksnak is doing his own brand of research in the vault. Possibly without express permission… But still, he’s making progress on a truly powerful use for JEWEL. Keep a close eye on these two! Gardens Optimizations This update has been a long time coming but we finally have the Gardens optimized and cached so you don’t have to stare at a loading spinner every time you open up your Gardening quests. We’ll continue to monitor and improve this portion of the game to ensure smooth and snappy interactions with your LP tokens. The bun-buns demand it! Multi-quest Improvements In our continued effort to improve multi-questing in Serendale, we’ve made the following adjustments and improvements: - On desktop, updated the multi-quest start queue to only require quests to wait between transactions when they utilize future stamina. We plan to improve this even more in the future by reducing the required wait for quests that do utilize future stamina. - On desktop, updated the multi-quest complete queue to no longer require waiting between transactions. - Note: On mobile, waiting between transactions is still required as MetaMask mobile is unable to manage multiple transactions at a time.

Good release day, Kingdom! We’ve got a collection of shiny new features coming your way today and many more in the pipeline. Check em out! Hero Card Data Treasure Trove If there’s any doubt just how deep the Hero genes can get, this feature should help alleviate that notion. Additional pages on the back of each Hero card will now show you a whole slew of data to compare, including: - Hero Primary abilities, game genes, and visual genes - Hero recessive game genes - Hero recessive visual genes - Hero summon history (with additional info coming soon) Hover over any attribute in the list to see its name / value and rarity, if applicable. In addition, the Hero dex will let you select the Hero data page you want to view for all Hero cards, so you can compare dominant and recessive stats to find that perfect Hero combo. Having all this data available in-game should make it much easier to manage Heroes all in one place. One final update from this batch includes renaming genes on the frontend that were previously labeled Transcendent as Exalted instead (to align with the intended cataloging for those appendage and hair style rarities, and the current class and ability rarities). The API will be updated to reflect those changes in the near future. Tainted Genes As part of this genetic exploration, we have begun the process of identifying Heroes who may be subject to rerolling certain genes that have been tainted from the original 19 Heroes on Serendale 1.0. A badge will display on the Hero and the data pages should highlight the affected genes in red. Unfortunately, the process of identifying tainted genes is somewhat manual at the moment so newly summoned Heroes may not show the tainted badge until we update them in our API. For the time being, looking at the prospective summoning Heroes should help determine whether a tainted gene is a possibility. A real-time solution for showing tainted Hero genes is already in progress. New UI Sounds and Sound Menu As you load up the game, you may notice that the world and interface sound a whole lot more… full of sound! Big props to Sam and to our sound designers for helping populate the world with an absolute smorgasbord of aural delights. And if you prefer the sound of silence, head to the new sound settings menu and adjust master volume, music volume, FX volume, or UI volume to accommodate your individual preferences. Maybe you’re just a music person. No shame in that! New Inventory UI Pop open your inventory bag to check out the brand new (and beautiful) design. Props to Cabby for the excellent UI updates. This updated version allows you to quickly filter your items and only see what’s important to you. In addition, it lists your power token balance, JEWEL balance, gold balance, and raffle ticket balance at a glance. We’re excited to continue improving the inventory as we look towards additional item types in the future. And most importantly, now you’ll never lose those bloaters again! Cross-chain Stone Carver Now that we’re up and running reliably on 2 chainz again, we can fully embrace the opportunities that brings. Like with the Stone Carver, who will travel between the realms after closing down shop at either one of his camps. We have just pushed up a few bug fixes around Serendale quests that we wanted to share as you may see some changes to the questing flows: - We've removed the temporary 5 attempts limit on Foraging and Fishing quests on Serendale. - A change was made to Multi-Questing on Serendale to handle each transaction in full before beginning the next. This will result in some slower submissions for consecutive multi-quest transactions, but it fixes a couple of important issues by doing so: - Multi-Questing on Serendale will now correctly reflect future stamina where it previously caused unwanted submission errors and required resubmitting those quests. - Multi-Questing on Serendale will now work correctly on MetaMask mobile where it previously caused the transaction confirmation popup to close. DFK Duel Season 2 has officially started! This Season will run for eight weeks, from December 14th to February 8th. So get your lone wolves, squads and battalions prepped and ready for an out-and-out Hero card brawl. Then buckle up, because this Season will bring some big improvements, exciting perks, and fun twists! You know what day it is Kingdoms! One final step in our testing process is we want to do a live summon in Serendale to ensure everything is working properly. Therefore, we will be dropping a single Gen0 Crystal to address 0xfECBd8Dd13fB958594Ad5d22d477786622A58Bca, as well as bridging another Gen0 from Crystalvale in order to summon with them. This means that Hero 1 and 2 will be created in Serendale. These Heroes will then be placed in our multisig address 0xa03990511B6ee8BDb24C1693f9f8BD90DDfFd19D and earmarked for future giveaways! The second Gen0, which was bridged from Crystalvale, will be returned to its owner. This is the same testing we did in Crystalvale, but we want to make everyone aware of it before it happens. A quick reminder that this Wednesday, November 30th, at around 12pm EST (noon), DFK Duels Season 1 will come to an end and players won't be able to queue up any more duels (this applies to ranked, private and practice matches). Our beloved feature will take a week-long break for maintenance, the implementation of some improvements and to give everyone's Heroes time for some well deserved rest before returning on Wednesday, December 7th for the start of DFK Duels Season 2. Going forward, DFK Duel seasons are scheduled to be eight weeks long and expected to have one week of downtime in between. As with the preseason, there will be some prizes up for grabs based on the final rank the player achieved, as well as a raffle for everyone that participated in Duel Season 1 with the amount of raffle tickets depending on their final score. Details will be announced in the coming days.
